Timothy Walker is a seasoned minister of the gospel with near 20 years experience in many areas of ministry including worship and praise, song writing, evangelism, teaching and preaching, foreign and domestic crusades, classroom teaching, television and pastoral ministry. Rev. Walker surrendered to the call of God to ministry at age nine, when he felt a strong call to ministry through a series of dreams and visions. At age twelve, he began following that call, ministering to his peers in childrens church through object lessons and music. Later, he ventured into youth ministry, again ministering to his peers in summer camps, youth rallies and other youth directed services. At this time, Brother Eldred Thomas, Founder of KTVT (Dallas), and KLTJ Channel 22 (Houston), mentored Pastor Walker and allowed him to serve as a regular guest and host for Keep Looking to Jesus, a daily live broadcast.
As he matured, he began evangelizing, doing revivals and special speaking engagements, raising funds for foreign crusades. At 18, he began traveling abroad to such destinations as Trinidad Tobago, the West Indies Islands, Europe, London England, Canada, Mexico and Africa. God would minister mightily through Pastor Tim, with many miracles, signs and wonders following. Pastor Tim would travel for many consecutive months as the Lord opened doors for ministry abroad. These services were rich in praise and worship and anointed ministry of the Word. During this time, Pastor Tim was privileged to teach at Prince of Peace Bible College (Lagos, Nigeria) and Hampstead Bible College (London, England). Rev. John Osteen, Lakewood Church, was instrumental to the ministry at this stage, encouraging him and generating support for many of his crusades.
During the expansion and growth of the ministry, Hope for Today television broadcast was birthed. The show was a weekly inspirational broadcast to the Houston area, with Pastor Tim serving as the host and producer. In a short time, the shows audience was expanded to include over 157 cities nationwide. Pastor Tim concurrently hosted a live, daily radio broadcast.
After a few years of traveling, hosting and producing the program, Pastor Tim felt a call to the local church and accepted a position to serve as Associate Pastor and Worship leader to a growing church. The Lord blessed their efforts, bringing exponential growth in a short time.
Pastor served as an Associate minister, Worship Pastor, Interim Pastor, and lay minister for close to a decade. In 2001, God called Pastor Tim and his wife, to pioneer a church in the DFW metroplex. Church of the Harvest (www.cothonline.com) was founded in February 2001 meeting in a movie theatre, and today has grown into its own facility, with land purchased to accommodate the Mission and future Vision of the house.
Early in 2003, Pastor Tim, founded Global Harvest Institute, desiring to see lay membership and pastors trained and equipped with cutting edge ministry skills enabling them to teach a relevant, yet uncompromising message of the Gospel. The first semester was completed in May 2003. Pastor Tim serves as the President of Global Harvest Institute (GHI).
Pastor Walker holds a B.A. in Biblical Studies from Canon Bible College and Seminary of Orlando, Florida, as well as an Associates degree from Hampstead Bible College of London, England.
While Gods blessing and favor in Pastor Tims life has been great in ministry, he has also experienced Gods rich blessings at home a family -- his wife of seven years and an infant son, T.J.
